Customizing Address Fixer
You can customize Address Fixer so that addresses appear as you want when they are corrected.
Removing Punctuation with Address Fixer
You can choose to have all punctuation removed from an address when you correct an address with Address Fixer.
To remove punctuation when fixing addresses
- Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
- Select the Address Fixer tab.
- Under Options, select the Remove punctuation check box.
- Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box and apply your changes.
Setting the Capitalization Preferences
You can choose how to capitalize addresses when you correct them with Address Fixer. You can choose to use all uppercase, all lowercase, or mixed case capitalization.
If you choose mixed case, you can add exceptions so that words with unusual capitalization will appear correctly in your addresses. For example, DYMO is always all uppercase and the E in FedEx is capitalized.
To change the capitalization settings
- Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
- Select the Address Fixer tab.
- Under Address capitalization, select one of the following:
- Uppercase - to change the address to all uppercase text.
- Lowercase - to change the address to all lowercase text.
- Mixed case - to change the address to capitalize the first letter of each word.
- Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box and apply your changes.
To add capitalization exceptions
- Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
- Select the Address Fixer tab.
- Under Address capitalization, select Mixed case.

Enter any words that you do not want this capitalization rule to apply to in the text box.
Separate each word with a semicolon.
- Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box and apply your changes.
